Afghanistan suffers from one of the highest levels of contamination from landmines. The Badakhshan region is extremely remote. Here is where FSD conducts mine victim support activities. Many victims from mines struggle to access the most basic of health provisions and facilities.
Mine victims in extremely remote villages need to see a doctor and possibly to visit the next clinic. FSD provides transportation and pays the medical bills. Small amounts, delivered at home and by FSD’s trained staff can make a life changing difference to the innocent victims and children of past conflicts.
FSD has been clearing landmines and educating the local population about the risks for the last 15 years.
